Zooey Deschanel's New Girl Gets Full Season Pickup

Fox's New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, has been picked up for a full season. There will be a total of 24 episodes. Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, made the announcement.

The show had a 4.8 rating among adults aged 18-49 last week. New Girl was one of the few shows where the pilot was available well ahead of the start of the fall season. This likely helped give the show a boost and a jump on the competition. The New Girl pilot was FOX's highest-rated fall sitcom debut in 10 years.
