CBS to Air Under the Dome Series in Summer 2013

CBS will air a series based on Stephen King's 2009 bestselling novel, Under the Dome, in Summer 2013. The series has the same name as the novel. The 13 episode series is from Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television.

Brian K. Vaughan wrote the television adaptation. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider and Brian K. Vaughan will all serve as executive producers. Niels Arden Oplev is directing the first episode.

The book and series tell the story of a small New England town suddenly sealed off from the world by an enormous and mysterious transparent dome. The people living inside the dome have to deal with post-apocalyptic conditions as they try and solve the mystery of the dome and where it came from. A politician named Big Jim Rennie is also determined to hold power inside the dome.
