James Taylor and Jimmy Fallon Perform Two James Taylors on a Seesaw

Posted on June 18, 2015

We have no idea how Jimmy Fallon convinced singer songwriter James Taylor to appear in this hilarious performance, but we are so glad he did. Jimmy and James were dressed identically as James used to dress in the 70s: he had a blue workshirt, khaki pants, earth shoes, really long hair and a full beard.

The two Taylors sat on each end of an actual seesaw and sang "Two James Taylors on a Seesaw." The mellow melody is all about friendship and the Golden Rule. The two sang:

"You go up, while I go down/
And this ol' world keeps spinnin' round/
I get short while you get tall/
We're just two James Taylors on a seesaw/

At one point, Jimmy was going to jump off the seesaw, but changed his mind after the real James Taylor sang,

Don’t jump off, don’t jump off, don’t jump off/
If you hurt me, you’ll just hurt yourself/

It's weird, wonderful and totally hilarious. The real James Taylor also performed his new single "Stretch of the Highway," which is from his new album Before This World.
