Tom Hanks Assists Stephen Colbert With His Spooky Time Halloween Fun Guide
Posted on October 26, 2012
Tom Hanks stopped by The Colbert Report to help Stephen with his annual "Stephen Ghoulbert's Spooky Time Halloween Fun Guide." Stephen wanted to showcase some great costumes for the kids that are budget friendly and Tom said he was happy to help the children. He made it clear that he was only there for one reason saying, "I'm not here to talk about me or my movies or my legacy as a living legend. I'm here for the kids, with some great inexpensive costumes that will make for a great spooktacular Halloween."
Stephen becomes suspicious when every child's costume Hanks shows is one of the characters he's playing in a hit movie -- from Commander Jim Lovell in Apollo 13 to a Fed Ex employee stranded on a desert island to multiple characters whose live are interconnected across time in Cloud Atlas. A furious Colbert orders Hanks out of his house for doing such shameless self-promotion. Then it really gets funny when a very famous former co-star shows up. Yes, it's Matt Damon from Saving Private Ryan who says he would rather be "drunk, in a movie theater, heckling Argo."
It's really funny. You can watch the skit on cc.com.
