Tom Hanks Heads to Saudi Arabia in A Hologram for the King

Tom Hanks stars in the trailer for A Hologram for the King, which is based on the bestselling novel by Dave Eggers. Hanks plays Alan Clay, a former executive with the Schwinn Bicycle Company. Clay is in bad shape financially and needs to make a big sale to keep his house from being foreclosed upon and to be able to send his daughter to college. He lands a gig pitching a holographic teleconferencing system to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The system will be used in an extravagant planned city that has yet to be built.
Clay is in the midst of a severe midlife crisis. His daughter hates him, his financess are a disaster and he is severely out of his element in Saudi Arabia. As for the big pitch meeting to the king? Clay is starting to wonder if it will ever happen. He and his team are keep waiting for weeks for an audience with the king to pitch the deal. He gets some help from his driver (Alexander Black) and a female Saudi doctor (Sarita Choudhury) who treats him when his anxiety gets to be too much.
Tom Tykwer directed the film, which is now available in limited release. Here is the trailer:
