Thor: The Dark World Dominates Weekend Box Office With $81 Million Opening

Thor: The Dark World dominated the box office this weekend. The Thor sequel's huge box office was a 31% improvement over the first Thor movie according to Box Office Mojo. Thor pounded its opponents and made about $75 million more than the second place film, Jackass Presents; Bad Grandpa. Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christopher Eccleston and Tom Hiddleston.
Bad Grandpa, which made $11.3 million, was followed by Free Birds and Last Vegas. The success of Thor: The Dark World caused last weekend's winner, Ender's Game, to slip in its second weekend in theaters. Ender's Game made $10.3 million, which is a 62% drop from what it made last weekend.
Ender's Game was followed by Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, Captain Phillips and About Time. You can see the complete box office report here.
