Keanu Reeves and Renee Zellweger star in the first trailer for The Whole Truth. Keanu plays Richard Ramsay, a defense attorney hired to represent a young man named Mike (Gabriel Basso) at his trial for allegedly murdering his abusive father. Mike has admitted to committing the crime. Mike's mother Loretta Lassiter (Renee Zellweger) has hired Ramsay and made him promise to keep her son out of prison.
The case appears open and shut until we learn about the life of the murdered man, Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi). Ramsay's colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) does some research on the case. The more she digs, the more the facts don't add up. In fact, she doesn't think the son should be on trial at all.
The film was directed by Courtney Hunt (Frozen River), and also stars Jim Klock, Ritchie Montgomery, Christopher Berry and Lara Grice. It will be released on October 21, 2016. Take a look:
