Blake Lively Stares Down a Shark in The Shallows Teaser Trailer
Posted on May 2, 2016
Blake Lively is in big trouble in the first teaser trailer for The Shallows. Blake plays Nancy, who makes the very poor decision to go surfing along in a secluded cove. Naturally the beautiful cove has a hungry great white shark who is just waiting to take a tasty bite out of her. She gets attacked, but manages to get to a rock in the water. She's now trapped 200 yards from the shore with no way to get there.
The film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and was shot in New South Wales. Blake told Entertaiment Weekly that she took the role because of her husband, Ryan Reynolds. She explained, "My husband did a movie called Buried and that was one of the reasons why I wanted to take on this movie so much, because I know how tough that was for him and how rewarding it was. It was terrifying and one of the most vulnerable things you can do but you gotta do it, right?"
Earlier this month Blake was seen in a wetsuit doing some reshoots in Malibu. The film was shot last fall and will hit theaters June 24th. Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds are expecting their second child this summer. Blake has two other films being released soon, All I See is You and the Woody Allen comedy, Café Society which will open the Cannes Film Festival. Here's the trailer:
