The Lego Movie Wins Box Office for Third Consecutive Weekend

The Lego Movie won the box office for the third consecutive weekend. It made another $31 million during its third weekend in theaters. The per theater average remains a very strong $8,048 per theater. The Lego Movie has now made $183 million and should easily pass the $200 million mark this week.
The animated Lego movie crushed 3 Days to Kill, starring Kevin Costner and Amber Heard, and Pompeii, starring Kit Harington and Emily Browning. 3 Days to Kill finished second and made $12.2 million. Pompeii has a weaker $10 million opening.
Pompeii was followed by Robocop 2014, The Monuments Men, About Last Night, Ride Along, Frozen and Endless Love. Disney's Frozen is now less than $16 million away from the $400 million mark. You can view the complete box office report here.
