Trailer for The Homesman Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Hilary Swank

Here is the trailer for The Homesman which stars Tommy Lee Jones, Hilary Swank and a host of A list stars. Jones also directed the film, set in the Old West.

Hilary Swank is Mary Bee Cuddy, a frontier woman who is determined to transport three women who are ill and whose husbands can't care for them. They each have some kind of mental disorder and need to be taken to a hospital in Iowa. Cuddy comes upon George Briggs (Jones) as he is hanging from a tree, about to die. He is a claim jumper who got a rather harsh punishment. Cuddy agrees to cut him down if he'll help her transport the women. He agrees although later notes, "Three crazy women for five weeks is a lot more than I bargained for."

It's a dangerous journey. There are outlaws who would assault the women, Indians who are not happy about having their lands trespassed upon, and a number of other hazards such as the brutal weather. Jones rounded up an all star cast with supporting roles played by Meryl Streep, James Spader, John Lithgow, Hailee Steinfeld, Tim Blake Nelson, William Fichtner, Miranda Otto, Jesse Plemons and Gracie Gummer (who is Meryl Streep's daughter).

Swank already has two Oscars under her belt for Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don't Cry. If the trailer is any indication, she could be looking at another nomination for her role as a plainspoken frontier woman who has the guts to do what the the three husbands' won't: get help for their wives. She and Jones have great chemistry and the supporting cast is amazing. The film will be released on November 14, 2014, in limited release. Take a look:
