The Hangover Just Beats Up to Win Weekend Box Office

Posted on June 8, 2009

The Hangover, a comedy starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, just barely beat out Up to take the #1 box office slot this past weekend. The Hangover made $44,979,319 and Up made $44,138,266. Will Ferrell's Land Of The Lost is being called a summer flop. The big budget comedy took in only a modest $18,837,350 over the weekend. There are lots of good films out this summer. They are not all going to be able to be hits.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian made over $14 million in its third week in theaters. Star Trek continues to pad its box office take - adding $8.3 million to its $222 million total. My Life in Ruins starring Nia Vardalos made over $3 million despite appearing in just over 1,100 theaters.
