Ted, Magic Mike Top Weekend Box Office

Two R-rated films, Ted and Magic Mike, topped the box office this weekend. Both films also generated impressive box office returns. Ted, a film by Seth MacFarlane, featuring a crude animated teddy bear, won the weekend and made $54 million. Magic Mike, a movie about male dancers starring Channing Tatum, finished second and made over $39 million. Brave finished third and made $34 million during its second weekend in theaters to bring its box office gross to $131 million.
Tyler Perry's Madea movies continue to perform well at the box office. His latest Madea film, Madea's Witness Protection, stars Eugene Levy and Denise Richards. It made $26 million despite appearing in just 2,160 theates.
Madea was followed by Madagascar 3, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Prometheus, Moonrise Kingdom and Snow White and the Hunstman. You can see the complete box office report here.
