Taylor Lautner Will Not Be Stretch Armstrong

Taylor Lautner will not be getting all stretchy as Stretch Armstrong. Taylor was rumored to be up for the role, but he was not mentioned in a new press release about the project.

The Wrap reports that a scheduling conflict prevented Taylor Lautner from taking the role. We would have liked to have seen Lautner in the role, but avoiding it might be a wise career choice for him.

Relatively Media and Hasbro have not yet announced who will play the extremely stretchable hero in its film based on the toy action figure. The film is targeted for an April 11, 2014 release date. It will be produced by Relativity's CEO, Ryan Kavanaugh, Hasbro's president and CEO Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir, senior vice president and Managing Director, Motion Pictures (Battleship).

Debate as to whether or not Taylor should be shirtless in the movie is now moot.
