Liam Neeson is Framed For Murder in Taken 3 Trailer
Posted on October 1, 2014
Liam Neeson returns as ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills in the new Taken 3 trailer. The trailer opens with what appear to be the horrible murder of Mills' wife Leonore (Famke Janssen). He is arrested on the scene and will be charged with murder.
Knowing it's a frame job and that his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) is now in danger, he promptly escapes custody and goes on the run. Forest Whitaker plays the police detective who is charged with bringing him in. But Mills knows his best chance to save is daughter is to finish things himself. We hope that the big twist is that she's not really dead. Because that opening is really depressing.
Bryan Mills has had the worst luck ever in the last two Taken movies. He also ticked off some really bad guys who are determined to get their revenge on him this time around. The trailer really shocked us, with his wife being murdered in the first few minutes. The detective in charge tries to get Mills to give himself up, but Mills explains that his only priority is keeping his daughter safe. When told that everyone from the FBI to the CIA will be coming after him, he just says "Good Luck."
We have no doubt that Mills and his particular set of skills are up to the task that writer and producer Luc Besson has set for him. But it all sounds so final. Neeson said he thinks this is the last film. He also said it's a fantastic story. Still, if it pulls in major box office, could someone else be taken again? Maybe next time it could be someone outside of Mills' dwindling family. Because, really, hasn't he been through enough?
Dougray Scott, Sam Spruell and Leland Orser co-star in the film which the studio is marketing as Tak3n just to annoy journalists. Olivier Megaton (Taken 2, Transporter 3, Colombiana directed the film, so we know the action sequences will be amazing. The trailer is excellent. It hits theaters on January 9, 2015. Take a look:
