Syfy Announces Plans for Sharknado Sequel

Syfy has announced that it will make a sequel to Sharknado. The Asylum will return as the production company. The Hollywood Reporter reports that this time it will be New York City that is under attack by the tornado and flying shark combination.

Syfy is also taking title suggestions for the sequel through a Twitter contest. Tweet your subtitle to @SyfyMovies using the hashtag, #Sharknado.

The first film was a huge social media hit. This did not translate into a greatly bigger audience for the film, but it did generate a lot of positive buzz for the Syfy network.
