Star Trek Into Darkness Wins Weekend Box Office

Star Trek Into Darkness, directed by J.J. Abrams, won the weekend box office with a $70 million opening weekend. The film's global box office is already over $160 million.
Star Trek was followed by Iron Man 3 which made another $35 million bringing its domestic total to $337 million after just three weekends. It has already crossed the $1 billion mark when the global box office is factored in. Iron Man 3 is already 9th on the worldwide gross box office chart.
The Great Gatsby made $23.4 million during its second weekend in theaters, bring its total U.S. box office to $90 million. The Great Gatsby was followed by Pain and Gain, the Croods, 42 and Oblivion. You can find the complete box office report here.
