SNL Skit: Netflix Execs Explain Price Hikes, Changes and New Company Structure
Posted on October 3, 2011
This is one of the funniest SNL skits we've seen in a long time. Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix (Jason Sudeikis), and Andy Rendich, head of DVD rentals (Fred Armisen) make several videos to explain all the bizarre changes at the company.
These changes include splitting the company into two parts "to make it even more confusing). One of the divisions is named Qwikster.
Hastings was also forced to explain that they lost their domain name, Netflix.com -- they forgot to renew it. But all is well because they now are located at a domain with two underscores. And it just gets more confusing after that. The skit just skewers the crazy decision making process at Netflix.
