SNL Cold Open: The Ellen DeGeneres Show Starring Kate McKinnon and Jim Parsons

Posted on March 2, 2014

For the Saturday Night Live Cold Open, Kate McKinnon reprised her Ellen DeGeneres impersonation, as she hosted another episode of her show. Jim Parsons did a hilarious impersonation of figure skater and NBC analyst Johnny Weir, who was such a hit with his commentary during the Sochi Olympics.

Jim donned skin tight black leather pants, a jeweled statement necklace and a vivid blazer for the interview. "I feel like every time I see you, you're wearing something new and crazy," said Ellen. Johnny said that wasn't true at all, but the gag was that every time the camera panned back to him he had donned some wild headgear or a colored faux fur stole. Weir said he fit in perfectly in Sochi by the end of his stay and he had the photos to prove it. The real Weir has a great sense of humor and tweeted, "I need Jim Parsons' necklace from his Johnny Weir parody on @nbcsnl!"

Weir and Tara Lipinski were such a hit at the Olympics, they will be providing fashion commentary for the Oscars for "Access Hollywood." Take a look:
