Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, won the box office this weekend with a huge take of $87.8 million. It was the biggest Bond opening ever. Deadline reports that the film has also already made over $515 million worldwide. Steven Spielberg's Lincoln also had a strong opening weekend. The opening was limited to just 11 theaters, but the film still made $900,000 thanks to packed theaters. It should peform well as it expands to more theaters.
Skyfall was followed by Wreck-It Ralph, which had a strong second week and made another $33 million. Wreck-It Ralph was followed by Flight, Argo, Taken 2 and Here Comes the Boom. Cloud Atlas was never able to recover from its bomb of an opening that was at least partially caused by Hurricane Sandy. The film has only made $22.7 million after three weeks in theaters.
