Samuel L. Jackson Talks Tarantino, Django Unchained

While doing press for The Avengers Samuel L. Jackson answered The Hollywood Reporter's questions about Jackson's role in Quentin Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained. The spaghetti western in set in the Antebellum South. Jamie Foxx plays a slave who teams up with an Austrian bounty hunter played by Cristoph Waltz.
They go on a hunt to find Foxx's character's wife (Kerry Washington). Leonardo DiCaprio plays a sadistic plantation owner who uses slaves for fighting and other depraved entertainment. Jackson plays a trusted house slave owned by DiCaprio's character.
Jackson says, "It's definitely an opportunity to explore a place in my history that I hadn't thought about, and deal with it in an honest and very dramatic way. [It's] an opportunity to be with one of the most iconic filmmakers we've ever had, or in my lifetime."
