Safe House Wins Weekend Box Office

Safe House returned to win the weekend box office this past weekend after finishing just behind The Vow last weekend. Safe House made another $23.8 million to bring its gross to $78 million. The Vow finished second and added $23.1 million to bring its total gross to $85 million. Both films have been very hot tickets these past two weeks.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, starring Nicolas Cage, opened in third and made $22.1 million. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island finished fourth in its second week in theaters and made $19.9 million. The Means War - a spy comedy starring Tim Hardy, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon - opened in fifth and made $17.3 million. The Phantom Menace (3D), Chronicle and The Woman in Black took the sixth, seventh and eighth positions. You can see the full box office report here.
