Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth Star in First Trailer for Bridget Jones's Baby
Posted on March 23, 2016
Bridget Jones is finally back. Yes, it's been a long 12 years since the last film. The new film is called Bridget Jones's Baby. As one might expect, Bridget (Renee Zellweger) is not doing well in the romance department. Apparently her relationship with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) ended on bad terms.
But things are looking up: she meets a new guy named Jack Quant (Patrick Dempsey) right after she falls headfirst into a mud puddle. Ah, that's classic Bridget. Things are going well until she discovers she's going to be a mom and has no idea who the father is.
Now we know that Bridget is disorganized, but this is ridiculous. But the scenes with her obstetrician (Emma Thompson) are very funny. In fact, all of the scenes in the trailer are quite funny.
The film was directed by Sharon Maguire and is due to hit theaters on September 16, 2016. The film also stars James Callis, Sally Phillips, Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent. There's also a cameo by Ed Sheeran. Here's the trailer:
