Prisoners Wins Weekend Box Office

Prisoners won the box office this weekend. The thriller, which has garnered positive reviews, stars Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Prisoners made $21.4 million with a $6,574 per theater average. It was followed by the horror film, Insidious: Chapter 2, which made $14.5 million during its second weekend in theaters. Insidious was followed by The Family and Instructions Not Included.
Battle of the Year, starring Josh Holloway, made $5 million during its weekend opening. The film was far more liked by the audience than critics according to the listing on Rotten Tomatoes.
