Philip Seymour Hoffman Makes His Directing Debut in Jack Goes Boating

Philip Seymour Hoffman discusses his new film, Jack Goes Boating which he directed. The film is based on the off-Broadway play in which he starred. He said he never had any aspirations to make it into a movie, until John Ortiz suggested that he direct it. That was a new challenge for him, which he said he really enjoyed. He loves the collaboration with the actors, the editors, and all the other people he worked with. He said he wanted to up the stakes of the story in the film version of the relationship drama.
