Tobey Maguire is Bobby Fischer in Pawn Sacrifice Trailer

Tobey Maguire is fascinating as brilliant chessmaster Bobby Fischer in the first trailer for Pawn Sacrifice. Fischer was a chess prodigy from Brooklyn who astounded the world in 1972 by beating USSR world champion Boris Spassky.
He was the first American to pull off such a feat. Many believe Fischer was the greatest chess player who ever lived. But Fischer's life took a dark turn. His emotional and mental problems increased over the years. Fischer, whose parents were both Jewish, became paranoid and was quite anti-Semitic in his views. Those that were close to him believed he suffered from an undiagnosed mental illness. When he was young some of his mentors were worried that if they got him treatment his genius for chess would disappear.
This biopic looks quite interesting. It covers Fischer's childhood through his international triumphs to his sad decline. Peter Sarsgaard co-stars in the film, which was directed by Edward Zwick. Fischer's great chess rival, Boris Spassky, is played by Liev Schreiber. The film hits theaters in September. Take a look:
