Posted on March 31, 2014
Noah won the box office this weekend. The film, which stars Russell Crowe as Noah, made $44 million during its opening weekend. Noah has received good reviews from critics and is 75% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Noah was followed by Divergent, which had a good second weekend in theaters. It made another $26.5 million to bring its domestic total gross to $95 million. Muppets Most Wanted came in third and made $11.3 million. This was just a 33% drop from its weak opening last weekend and likely came as a relief to Disney.
Muppets Most Wanted was followed by Mr. Peabody & Sherman, God's Not Dead and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Sabotage, a thriller starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sam Worthington, opened in seventh and made $5.3 million in 2,486 theaters. Sabotage was followed by Need for Speed, 300: Rise of an Empire, Non-Stop and The Lego Movie.
