Snoopy Battles the Red Baron in New Peanuts Trailer

Posted on January 5, 2015

Here is the latest trailer for the Peanuts movie. The film is shot in 3D cgi, which surprisingly looks really good. The animators have kept the style of the old school animation so the characters are still familiar.

We still have no idea what the plot is, but frankly we don't care. This clip opens with Woodstock working on a carpentry project. Suddenly, Snoopy sees his arch nemesis from World War I: the flying ace The Red Baron. He jumps on his doghouse/Sopwith Camel and takes flight. Now he's over Paris chasing after that pesky Baron, who always gets away.

He flies over the Eiffel Tower and falls in the Seine river. Luckily, it's really only his water dish. Snoopy never says a word, but his facial expressions tell us every thing he's thinking. The interplay between Snoopy and Woodstock is really funny and Snoopy's total immersion in his World War I fantasy is just hilarious.

The colors are fantastic, as is the animation. The film uses Flo Rida and Fitz's "What I Like About You" in the trailer, which is definitely a departure from the classic television specials. As for Charlie Brown, we see him going to the movies. He's carrying everyone else's popcorn, which he promptly spills everywhere. "Good Grief!" he intones as all the children laugh at him and call him a blockhead.

The film will hit theaters on November 6, 2015. The movie features the voices of Noah Schnapp, Bill Melendez, Mariel Sheets, Venus Schultheis, Noah Johnston, Hadley Belle Miller, Francesca Capaldi, Aj Tecce, Alexander Garfin, Mar Mar, and Rebecca Bloom. The film was directed by Steve Martino and is based on the classic Charles M. Schulz comic strip. Take a look:
