Panem is at War in Trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2
Posted on June 14, 2015
It's finally here: the first trailer for the last Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. The film picks up where the last one left off. Panem is now at war, as the revolution started by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has turned into civil war.
Evil President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is still running the show at the Capitol and he has no intention of giving up power to a bunch of poor revolutionaries. Not after he lied, cheated and murdered his way to the top. But Katniss and her allies from District 13 and her friends Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Finnick (Sam Claflin) set off on a mission to free the Capitol. President Snow is ready for her and her team and he has lots of nasty surprises for her.
Katniss may not like performing on camera, but there's no question that she has what it takes to fire up the troops. She tells them, "We all have one enemy. He corrupts everyone and everything...He turns the best of us against each other. Tonight, turn your weapons to the Capitol."
We get to see Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brianne on Game of Thrones, plays Commander Lyme, a former Hunger Games champion from District 2 who is now a leader in the rebellion. It's not all action in the trailer, though. We do get to see a glimpse of Finnick and Annie's long-delayed wedding and Pris and Katniss dance with joy.
Stanley Tucci, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Willow Shields, Natalie Dormer and Julianne Moore co-star in the film which was directed by Francis Lawrence. The film hits theaters on November 20, 2015. Take a look:
