Posted on July 30, 2018

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is the number one film in theaters this weekend. It had a $61.5 million opening in 4,386 theaters. This is the sixth film in the Mission: Impossible franchise and the best opening yet for the franchise. Fallout has an A CinemaScore.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout stars Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Ving Rhames. Tom Cruise injured himself during the shooting of the film. He proved he truly is a man of action by luring a nervous James Corden to jump out of a plane with him. You can watch the video on YouTube.

Fallout was followed by Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, The Equalizer 2 and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The animated film, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, opened in fifth place. It made $10.5 million in 3,188 theaters. It has a B+ CinemaScore.

Teen Titans was followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp, which added $8.4 million during its 4th weekend in theaters. Incredibles 2 added $7.1 million to bring its total gross to $572 million. It could get to $600 million but will likely fall short of this year's two leading films: Avengers: Infinity War ($677 million) and Black Panther ($699 million).
