Mad Men Season 5 Premiere Delivers Big Ratings for AMC
Posted on March 27, 2012
The long delay between the fourth and fifth seasons did not hurt AMC's Mad Men series. The Hollywood Reporter writes the season five premiere delivered record ratings of 3.5 million viewers. This was 600,000 more viewers than AMC's previous high with Mad Men.
Bloomberg reports that Mad Men likely benefited from people watching the show on Netflix. A recent streaming deal made past seasons of the series available to Netflix members.
The series may also get an extra boost from the online popularity of Jessica Pare's performance of the 60s French Pop hit, "Zou Bisou Bisou." Lionsgate has released the single on iTunes.
