Logan Wins Weekend Box Office With Huge $85 Million Opening

Logan dominated the box office this weekend with a huge $85 million opening. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen. This is yet another big score for Hugh Jackman, Wolverine, Marvel and comic-based films. The film has an A- CinemaScore.
Logan was followed by Get Out which made $26 million during its second weekend. The horror film fell just 21.8% from the previous week. Logan was followed by The Shack starring Sam Worthington and based on the novel by William P. Young. The Shack had a $16.1 million opening and has very strong A Cinemascore.
Meanwhile, The LEGO Batman Movie continues to generate box office cash. It has amassed $148 million after four weekends in theaters. It made $11.6 million this weekend. Before I Fall starring Zoey Deutch opened in fifth. Zoey finds herself reliving her final day over and over in the thriller which has a B CinemaScore. It had a $5 million opening.
Before I Fall was followed by John Wick: Chapter Two, Hidden Figures, The Great Wall, Fifty Shades Darker and La La Land. Logan will have to defeat Kong: Skull Island in order to repeat next weekend. Other new films opening will include Raw, The Ottoman Lieutenant and Personal Shopper.
