Maria Bello and Teresa Palmer Star in Lights Out Trailer
Posted on July 18, 2016
The first trailer for Lights Out has dropped and it's not like any horror trailer we've ever seen. At first it seems like a pretty normal horror film. Teresa Palmer plays Rebecca, a young woman who sees a strange woman appear whenever the lights are turned out. She then finds out that her little brother Martin is seeing the same woman and is terrified. One night Martin (Gabriel Bateman), hears the creepy sounds and his mother Sophie (Maria Bello) apologizes to him and asks if they woke him up.
Wait, what? The mom knows what's going on? Oh, yes she does. The nocturnal visitor has been attached to their mother for years. Her mother calmly explains these fact to her horrified children who can't believe she never got around to mentioning the creepy ghost attached to her for all these years. It seems clear to everyone but mom that this is no friendly spirit and that the sooner the lights go back on, the better.
The film was directed by David F. Sandberg, based on his popular short Youtube film that he shot in his apartment in Sweden. The feature length film was produced by James Wan (The Conjuring). The trailer is quite creepy. Take a look:
