Trailer for Life Itself, the Roger Ebert Documentary

Here is the trailer for Life Itself, a documentary about the late film Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic. The film is directed by Steve James (Hoop Dreams) and is executive produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Zaillian (Moneyball). Based on Ebert's memoir, the film tells Ebert's life story with lots of input from his friends, family and his colleagues.
The movie explores his love of film his prolific writing career, including writing the infamous potboiler Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and his relationships with Gene Siskel. Sisket and Ebert and their trademarked "thumbs up" became the standard for film criticism in America. The film also explores Ebert's devastating cancer diagnosis and the many surgeries he endured over the years, while still writing. The film will hit theaters, be issued on demand and will be available on iTunes on July 4th. Take a look:
