DC Heroes and Villains Unite in Legends of Tomorrow Trailer

The CW has released the first full trailer for Legends of Tomorrow and it is awesome. Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) plays Rip Hunter a time traveler who travels into the past to our time to recruit a team to stop one of the DC universe's biggest baddies: the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).

The team he picks is familiar to fans of Flash and Arrow and contains both heroes and villains. On the hero side he collects Atom (Brandon Routh), Firestorm (Franz Drameh), Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), White Canary/Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Hawkman/Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heatwave (Dominic Purcell).

The trailer opens with a shot of London in 2166. Vandal Savage has finally conquered the entire world and it's a miserable place to live. Now Rip Hunter will lead the team through time to try to stop Savage before he can destroy the world. Their first stop appears to be 1975 where the team expresses incredulity at the outifts people wore in the 70s.

After that, it's action, action, and more action -- and some great one liners. As for Savage, he also has some great lines. When he intones, "I've seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall" it's chilling. With time travel in the mix, it's clear that Savage has already seen Batman and Superman destroyed in the future which explains why they aren't part of the team sent to stop Savage.

The show debuts January 21st, 2016, and we can't wait. Take a look:
