Lady Gaga's Mother Talks to Oprah About an Early Lady Gaga Performance
Posted on March 18, 2012
Oprah Winfrey interviewed Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, on her show, Oprah's Next Chapter. Lady Gaga's early work in the music business began with a performance artist named Lady Starlight.
Lady Gaga's mom Cynthia says, "Lady Gaga started emerging when she was performing at Joe's Pub downtown. She was in her bikini performing with Lady Starlight and decided that night with heavy metal to actually light hairspray on fire. Some people left when that happened and a lot of people stayed and thought it was cool. Her father and I were like, honestly he said, '"I think she has a screw loose.'"
