Taron Egerton and Channing Tatum Spring into Action in First Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle Trailer

Posted on April 26, 2017

The Kingsmen are back and this time they're heading to America. Taron Egerton returns as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, the British street kid turned British super spy, in Kingsman: The Secret Circle. Based on the popular comics, the Kingsmen are Britain's great secret weapon. They believe that manners maketh the man, they are always dressed impeccably, carry the latest tech gadgetry and can take any number of oncomers in a fight. Colin Firth was the star of the first film as Eggsy's mentor, the unflappable Harry Hart.

In the sequel, the Kingsmen's headquarters is destroyed and England is in grave danger. They head to the U.S. and team up with the American version of the service called The Statesmen. The Statesmen have their headquarters in a distillery and their leader is Champagne (or Champ), played by Jeff Bridges. Channing Tatum and Game of Thrones' Pedro Pascal are agents Tequila and Whiskey.

We get a glimpse of Harry Hart in the trailer, but it appears he's in some kind of padded room and is wearing an eye patch. That can't be good. But at least he's alive -- right? In any event, his appearance is quite shocking to Eggsy and to Merlin (Mark Strong). We also get a glimpse of Ginger (Halle Berry) the tech guru of the Statesmen.

Director Matthew Vaughn told Empire magazine that he wants the sequel to be "bigger and bolder and funnier and crazier." With this cast, and a villainous Julianne Moore on board, we're thinking that Vaughn has succeeded in his goal. We can't wait to see it; it hits theaters in September. Take a look:
