Keanu Reeves Stars in the First Trailer for John Wick

Keanu Reeves is back in this entertaining new trailer for the action thriller John Wick. Keanu plays John Wick, a retired assassin. He lives alone with his beloved beagle, who was a gift from his now dead wife.

One day he's out in his restored 1969 Mustang and a Russian mobster named Iosef Tarasov tries to buy his car. When he says it's not for sale, things get ugly. Tarasov is played by Lily Allen's brother, Alfie Allen, who is best known as Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones. Tarasov sends an assassin (Adrianne Palicki) to kill him and his dog, but only gets the dog. The Russians also get his car. Big mistake.

Now John Wick is ready to resume his former profession and execute revenge for his adorable dog and his amazing car. The set up is awesome and so is the cast which includes Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Jason Isaacs, Bridget Regen, Lance Reddick and Michael Nyqvist. A trivia note: Adrianne Palicki met her new fiance during filming. She is set to marry stuntman Jackson Spidell.

This is Keanu's first film since 2013's 47 Ronin which grossed more than $150 million worldwide, but underperformed in the U.S. Only $38 million of the global take was from the U.S. box office.

The film was directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, and was written by Kerek Kolstad. Lionsgate will released the film on October 24, 2014. The film will be screened at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, the largest genre film festival in the U.S. The festival runs September 18- 26th.
