Joseph Gordon-Levitt Lip Synchs Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation

Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie are making the rounds to promote their new film The Night Before and they stopped by Jimmy Fallon's spin-off lip synch show on Spike for its holiday battle. It really was a battle of the titans. Anthony Mackie went full MC Hammer with a rousing rendition of "2 Legit 2 Quit". He started the number in a white suit, but ended it in a black leotard. Backed up by dancer, Mackie did an excellent job. He would have won any other competition. But then Joseph Gordon-Levitt came out and it was all over.

Joseph is a stellar lip syncher (is there anything this guy can't do?) and he stole the show with his brilliant recreation of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" video. He channeled Janet with her jumpsuit, her ponytail and her red lipstick. He nailed those military-style dance moves, while never missing a word. He also got Janet's attitude down pat.

He was so great that Anthony Mackie and LL Cool J literally had their jaws drop with shock to see him bust out those moves with total precision. Anthony pretty much stayed in shock during the entire performance. This is one of the very best lip synch we've ever seen anyone do. Only Emma Stone has this kind of game. So will they ever meet up for a competition.

When he started that familiar countdown at the beginning of the song you could tell it was going to be something special. Watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt do his thing -- and be amazed. Take a look:
