Jon Bon Jovi Talks About the Record Business with Larry King, Says Taylor Swift is the Real Deal
Posted on December 10, 2010
In a very interesting interview, Jon Bon Jovi talked to Larry King about the music business and today's upcoming performers. Jon, who has sold an amazing 120 million records, says that the industry has really changed and that it will be difficult for the next generation's stars to sell that many albums.
You need to have a touring base. He says when he started a record company would give a band a few albums to make it. But today, he says, you have to make it immediately.
Jon says he doesn't tweet, but he kids do. He thinks social media is very useful, however. Jon was thrilled that his songs were featured on Glee. Larry asked Jon to comment on some of the young performers today. Jon said Justin Timberlake is very talented, and he likes Justin Bieber. Taylor Swift, according to Jon, "is the real deal." He says she's the next Loretta Lynn, which is high praise indeed. Take a look:
