Jigsaw Tops Weekend Box Office

Horror films dominated this final weekend box office before Halloween. It was a weak box office overall. Jigsaw won the weekend with a $16.3 million opening and a $5,525 per theater average. It has a B CinemaScore.

Jigsaw was followed by Tyler Perry's Boo 2!, Geostorm, Happy Death Day and Blade Runner 2049. Thank You for Your Service follows soldiers struggling to return to normal civilian life after service in Iraq. The war drama has an A- CinemaScore. It opened in sixth and made $3.7 million. It was followed by Only The Brave and The Foreigner.

Suburbicon was a major bomb. The film was written by the Coen brothers and directed by George Clooney. It stars Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac. It has a bad D- CinemaScore as well as very low scores from reviewers and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. The dramedy opened in ninth and made just $2.8 million. It had a very weak $1,369 per theater average.
