Jessica Chastain is a Ruthless Lobbyist in First Miss Sloane Trailer
Posted on September 16, 2016
Jessica Chastain stars as a ruthless Washington lobbyist in the first trailer for Miss Sloane. She plays Elizabeth Sloane, a seasoned lobbyist who is excellent at her job. She doesn't care about the issues and can forcefully make any kind of legislation happen, by means legal or illegal.
Miss Sloane is hired to get some gun control legislation through Congress and she is willing do do whatever it takes to get it done. During the course of her campaign she develops strong feelings about the issues, putting her own career at risk.
The film also stars John Lithgow, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Jake Lacy, Sam Waterston, Douglas Smith and Dylan Baker. The film was directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Killshot).
In the trailer Jessica Chastain explains how lobbyists work and it's enough to make you even more cynical about politics than you already are. She is ice cold, brilliant and possibly sociopathic. Everything about her -- from her voice to her slash of crimson lipstick -- lets you know that she means business and that if you cross her it could be bad. Very bad. Take a look:
