Jack the Giant Slayer Wins Weekend Box Office
Posted on March 3, 2013
Jack the Giant Slayer is this weekend's box office winner. However, the box office take of $28 million was not very big compared to film's $195 million budget. Jack the Giant Slayer was followed by Identify Thief, which made another $9.7 million to push its gross over the $100 million mark.
Two other opening films, 21 and Over and The Last Exorcism Part II, finished third and fourth, respectively. Neither film made much money with 21 and Over taking in $9 million and The Last Exorcism Part II making just $8 million. Snitch, Escape from Planet Earth and Safe Haven took the 5th through 7th spots.
Silver Linings Playbook continued its lengthy run with an 8th place finish and the addition of nearly $6 million to its box office total, which is now over $115 million. You can find the complete box office report here.
