Iron Man Destroys the Competition

Iron Man is the first blockbuster of 2008. The film made $98,618,668 in its opening weekend, and made $102,118,668 if you count the Thursday opening.
Robert Downey, Jr. turns in a fantastic performance as the tycoon turned superhero. Gwyneth Paltrow is funny as his hyper-efficient assistant, Terrence Howard steals scenes as the Army liaison and friend, and Jeff Bridges is just marvelously evil. With overseas box office, the film has already taken in $200 million.
In second place this weekend was Patrick Dempsey's romantic comedy, Made of Honor which made $14,756,850. In third place was Tina Fey's Baby Mama, which took in an additional $10,065,010 in its second week.
