Posted on February 21, 2011
IDW Publishing and HBO have announced the True Blood comic series will continue after record breaking sales. The True Blood comic book series has launched new six-issue arc written by actor Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newli, and writer Marc Andreyko. A hardcover collection of the first True Blood comic books (pictured above) is also available.
McMillian says, "Co-Writing the True Blood comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as longtime comic fan. It's a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing True Blood mythology."
In the new six-issue series, Jessica is exposed to contaminated bottles of Tru Blood, causing the lovely vampire to go berserk. It's up to Sookie, Bill and the others to figure out who (or what) is behind the bad Blood. In addition to Jessica, several other Bon Temp residents are making their comic book debut including Hoyt, Terry, Arlene and Steve Newlin.
