Hop Wins Box Office for Second Straight Weekend

The animated Hop movie, starring James Marsden, Russell Brand and Kaley Cuoco, won the box office for the second straight weekend. The film made another $21.2 million to bring its total box office gross to $67.8. Hop opened with $38 million last weekend.
Hop was followed by Hanna, a thriller starring young talent Saoirse Ronan. Hanna made $12.4 million. Arthur came in third with a disappointing $12.2 million take. Russell Brand, who played Arthur, ended up being defeated by himself in Hop. Soul Surfer, starring AnnaSophia Robb, performed very well and made $10.6 million in 2,200 theaters. Soul Surfer was followed by Insidious, which made $9.3 million during its second week in theaters.
Your Highness, a fantasy comedy starring Natalie Portman, did not do well in theaters and made just $9.3 million. You can see the complete box office report here.
