Pixar is pushing the boundaries for animated films with its newest title, The Good Dinosaur. The film posits what would happen if the asteroid that made the dinosaurs go extinct somehow missed Earth. The dinosaurs are the dominant species on the planet.

Arlo, a young Apatosaurus, gets separated from his loving parents during a terrible storm. Lost and scared, he must make his way back to the family farm. He finds a companion along the way, his dog Spot. Only in this world, Spot is young human who acts like a dog.

Director Peter Sohn has the characters, who are all animated, live in a photorealistic world based on the Teton Mountain Range in Wyoming. Sohn and his team used the information from the United States Geological Service to recreate the location in the movie. Sohn says he wanted the world to be real so it would look threatening enough. Arlo must be very brave during his journey and has a lot of growing up to do during the long trek, which is filled with adventure and danger.

The talented voice cast includes Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliot, Frances McDormand, Jack Bright and Alan Tudyk. Take a look:
