Ghost Whisperer Plot Twist Horrifies Fans
Posted on November 8, 2008
Ok, Ghost Whisperer fans. If you haven't seen last night's episode called "Imaginary Friends and Enemies"/Episode 406 you should stop reading now because this post is spoiler (and fury) laden.
We are simply furious that the producers followed through and killed off Jim (brilliantly played by David Conrad). It's just unbelievably awful. So he's a ghost now and will stick around to help Melinda a la The Ghost and Mrs. Muir? Puh-leeze! No one wants to see that. The producers blogged on TV Guide's website that "it's not what we're thinking" and that it will be an "exciting journey."
Really? Because unless Jim turns out to be in a coma half the season and has a miracle recovery we won't find it in the least bit interesting or exciting. We don't want ghost Jim, we want real Jim. And we certainly don't want Melinda to be pregnant if Jim is dead, which is where this storyline is heading. Jim should have been given more to do in the show -- why couldn't he be Melinda's supernatural sidekick when Jay Mohr left the show?
As you may have noticed, we are feeling super grumpy about this, and we're not the only ones: just read the fan blogs. And if that horrible plaid house dress they put our fabulous Jennifer Love Hewitt in during the opening scene is evidence of the costume budget cuts, well, heaven help us all. Give Melinda her fabulous clothes and her fabulous husband back.
