Gal Gadot Joins Chris Pine to Fight the Germans in WWI in British Wonder Woman Trailer

The new trailer for Wonder Woman is out and it's fantastic. Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is seen in the present day, walking past the I.M. Pei glass pyramid in front the the Louvre in Paris. She says in the voiceover, "I used to want to save the world: this beautiful place. But the closer you get the more you see the great darkness within. I learned this the hard way... a long, long time ago."

We see images of when Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashed into the ocean near the island of Themyscira where the Amazons live. She rescues him and takes him to their Queen, Diana's mother. He explains that the Great War to end all wars (World War I) is coming to their land. In a stunning beach battle sequence, the Germans attack the Amazons and it does not go well for them.

Diana leaves with Steve to help fight to save the world. Her mother warns her to be careful. She battles the Germans and fights with Steve. But something happens during this time period that makes her withdraw from the world, only appearing when it appears an evil is rising again and Bruce Wayne/Batman asks her to join the Justice League. Does Steve Trevor die? We hope not. Maybe they can deep freeze him so they can resurrect him in the modern day. And no, we don't care that it would parallel Captain America's story. The funniest scene in the trailer is at the end when Diana is trying on current women's fashions and wants to know how she is supposed to fight in such restrictive clothing.

The film is set to hit theaters next June. We can't wait. Take a look:
