Here is the first teaser trailer for USA Network's six part television show called The Dig which stars Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche. The show is from the creators of Homeland, Gideon Raff, and Heroes, Tim Kring.
Jason Isaacs stars as Peter Connelly, an FBI agent. While stationed in Jerusalem, Israel, he investigates the death of Emma, an archeologist. His investigation leads him into a greater mystery with much higher stakes. What he discovers in the tunnels under the city could have world-shaking significance. Anne Heche plays his boss, Lynn Monahan, who runs the Jerusalem office.
Regina Taylor (The Unit) plays Ruth Ridell, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Riddell has her hands full with the local constabulary who object to Connelly's methods. Breaking Bad's David Costabile plays Ted Billingham, a mega-bestelling author who has founded his own religious group.
The action series, which sounds very intriguing, is set to premiere this fall. The show shoots in Israel and is on a scheduled hiatus. Deadline reports that Raff said at the TCA Summer Press Tour that the violence in Israel right now may make it unsafe to continue filming. He said that the city of Jerusalem itself is a key element of the show. But if the violence does not allow them to keep shooting there, they will sort it out somehow.
The show is set for a 6 episode arc. But if the ratings are good, the show will move to another locale with the same characters for season 2. Isaacs jokes that he hopes it's Hawaii for the next season. Here is the teaser trailer:
