First Teaser Trailer for Mission Impossible Rogue Nation
Posted on March 22, 2015
The first teaser trailer is out for Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and it looks fantastic. Tom Cruise returns as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. It appears that someone has created a team called the Syndicate which is determined to destroy the IMF.
Brad Bird did such an amazing job of directing the last film that they wanted him back for this one. But he signed on to direct Tomorrowland. Richard McQuarrie, who wrote the screenplays for The Usual Suspects, Jack Reacher and Edge of Tomorrow stepped in to direct. If the trailer is any indication, he's up to the task.
The trailer is action-packed. One sequence shows Ethan Hunt in a gym training with a female operative. They are sparring and she is incredibly aggressive, sparking a worried Hunt to ask if they've met before. It's the kind of throwaway line that Cruise excels at. Of course he also excels at giving the insurers anxiety attacks as he does his own stunts. Last time he hung off the side of the tallest building in the world in an incredibly dangerous stunt. This time he's hanging from an airplane by his bare hands. Yes, that's really him -- no stunt double.
Jeremy Renner as Agent William Brandt, Simon Pegg as Agent Benji Dunn and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. Alec Baldwin, America Olivo and Rebecca Ferguson join the cast for the first time. Here is the teaser:
